Sargassum comes and goes in the Mexican Caribbean, and it varies a lot from year to year and even from beach to beach. In most cases it doesn’t ruin a session. Before your date, we check the conditions at your resort and at nearby beaches, and we pick the cleanest spot with the best light. If your beach is heavily affected, we can move to a nearby beach, use a resort garden or pool area, or reschedule at no extra cost. You won’t be stuck with photos you don’t love.

The weather is generally best from November to April, with lower humidity, clear skies, and comfortable temperatures. Summer is hot and humid, with a higher chance of afternoon showers, and sargassum is more common in some years from spring through summer. We shoot all year, though, and the Caribbean light is beautiful in every season. If your dates are fixed, we’ll work with what the weather gives us.

Neutral tones, soft colors, and coordinated outfits photograph beautifully. We recommend avoiding large logos, busy patterns, and neon colors. Once your session is booked, we can provide a style guide to help your family look their best.

Most sessions last between 30 minutes and 2 hours.

That's completely normal. Children are happiest when they can play and be themselves. Rather than forcing poses, we use a relaxed and fun approach that captures genuine smiles, laughter, and authentic family connections.

The quantity of images shifts with session duration and package choice, yet most families receive 90 professionally edited, high-resolution photographs through a private online gallery.

You may anticipate a preview of your family session within a few days; the complete edited gallery is typically delivered within 15 business days.

The weather in the Mexican Caribbean can change quickly. Light rain often passes within minutes. If necessary, we can adjust the schedule, move to a covered location, or reschedule based on availability.

We recommend booking as soon as your travel dates are confirmed. Popular vacation periods such as summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Spring Break can fill several months in advance.

Family photography pricing varies depending on session length, location, number of participants, and deliverables. Most professional family photography sessions in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya range from $200USD to $400USD, also customized packages for larger groups and family reunions.

Yes. Both sunrise and sunset sessions are available. Sunrise offers quieter beaches and cooler temperatures, while sunset provides the warm golden light that many families love.

Resort rules vary and change often.Many allow sessions on their beach, some ask for a fee or advance notice, and a few don’t allow outside photographers on the property. Send us the name of your resort when you inquire and we’ll tell you what we know. If the resort doesn’t allow it, we’ll suggest a public beach right next to it, such as Punta Esmeralda or the beaches near Downtown, so you still get the same Caribbean look.

Sunrise and the hour before sunset (golden hour) give the softest, most flattering light. Sunrise has quieter beaches, cooler temperatures, and fewer people, which is great for young kids. Sunset gives the warm golden glow many families love. Midday light is harsher, so we avoid it unless it’s your only option. If it is, we’ll find shade and use the light to our advantage.

We’ll agree on a meeting point before your session. This is usually your resort lobby, the resort beach entrance, or a landmark at the beach location. We’ll send you the exact point, the time, and my phone number on WhatsApp so we can find each other easily. I arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. There’s no need to prepare anything except your outfits and your good mood.

There is no travel fee within Playa del Carmen. For Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Akumal, and Tulum, a $50 USD travel fee applies. For other locations, such as Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, or Costa Mujeres, we agree on the details with you before booking. The fee is added to your package price, and we confirm it in writing before you pay your retainer, so there are no surprises.

Yes, you can bring a second outfit. Many families change once, for example from a light beach look to something more colorful, or from a casual outfit to a dressier one for the sunset. A change takes about 5 to 10 minutes, so we recommend it for the 1-hour and 2-hour sessions. In the 30-minute session, time is short, so we suggest sticking to one outfit and using the time on the photos. Choose a nearby spot to change, such as your resort room, a beach club restroom, or a quiet corner, and keep your second outfit simple and easy to put on, especially for little ones.
