I’m Ivan Luckie, photographer and creative director behind Luckie Photography.
Since 2006, I have photographed more than 1,000 weddings, from intimate ceremonies to large destination celebrations. My work has taken me throughout destinations across the United States, including Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Milwaukee, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Boston and California.
I have also photographed weddings internationally and at destination locations in Cancun, Tulum, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Italy, and Peru.
That experience has taught me when to step back and let a moment happen, when to offer direction, and how to create meaningful portraits without taking you away from your celebration for too long.
My goal is simple: to give you photographs that help you remember not only how your wedding looked, but exactly how it felt.

What is your wedding photography style?
Our style combines documentary storytelling with refined, gently directed portraiture. We preserve real reactions and meaningful moments as they happen while helping you feel comfortable and confident during portraits.
Do you help couples with posing?
Yes. Most couples are not professional models and do not arrive knowing how to pose. We provide natural direction using movement, interaction, and simple positioning so your portraits feel polished without looking forced.
Where do you photograph weddings?
We serve weddings throughout Minnesota, Iowa, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Coverage for other Midwest and destination locations is also available by request.
Are travel costs included?
Yes, however travel requirements depend on the wedding location, schedule, and amount of coverage selected. Any necessary travel costs will be explained clearly in your personalized proposal.
What happens if the weather changes?
We review the venue, schedule, available light, and alternative locations before the wedding. If the weather changes, we adapt the photography plan while keeping the experience as comfortable and organized as possible.
How will we receive our photographs?
Your completed photographs are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view, download, and share them. Your proposal and agreement will confirm the delivery schedule and everything included in your collection.
How do we reserve our date?
Begin by sending your wedding information through the inquiry form. Once availability and coverage are confirmed, you will receive an electronic agreement and retainer instructions. The date is reserved after both have been completed.
