What you need to know about your venue

After coming to this Mexican Caribbean area since 1985 I have seen how It has grown up with each passing year, since all were secluded beaches through the transition to be almost all private beaches.

Now that there are some several hotel along this Mexican area and worked in many of them

Huge, All-inclusive resorts

Most of these resorts are located in Puerto Morelos and the Rivera Maya (Playa del Carmen before Tulum)

benefits

-In general these resorts have all you need
-Has more than one speciality restaurant like grill steak , Sushi, Italian, Mexican, international, etc
-Some of them has a nightclub inside the property
-Several locations for night shows
-More than 1 hotel inside the property for all budgets, if you stay in the more expensive hotel you can go and use others, not if you stay in a less expensive hotel inside property
-Has several locations for weddings venue and wedding receptions
-Has kids club and nursery
-Has permanent transportation to all places golf cars,  small trains or buses
-has paid attractions like wave pool, dolphins, wave runners rentals.
-They have a wedding department, they can take care of everything

 Cons 

-Hard to get all your wedding guest together, If one goes somewhere will be very hard to find them, so you need to be really organized and plan activities during your wedding stay.
-Wedding venue are usually in the most secluded location, Mexican beaches are free for everybody, therefore your wedding may not be complete private or some curious could be watching.
-Although you have plenty of reception options, some of them like restaurants, you won’t be available to close it for a private event, you may need to share the place with other hotel guests if you don’t have guests to get the restaurant full enough to close it just for you.
-You will have plenty of wedding venue options but this resorts are quite busy specially in April, May, June, July, November and December so many locations will be already taken if you don’t book it with enough time
-Resort  have up to 15 weddings in a day, Coordinators are usually shared
-They charge money fees for each outside vendors, they go from $300USD until $1,000USD

-You will find your friends easier or run into them in any moment even if you don’t have plan activities.
-Food is usually better
-Resort Service in general  is more personalized
-Wedding coordinator may not be shared depending on the season and on the resort
-Venue locations may be secluded and private depending on the hotel location
-Reception locations are private as they are smaller and you can easily get them full
-Quite resorts

Contras

– Less options for wedding venues
– Less options for wedding Receptions
-No extra attractions like swim with dolphins, nightclub, etc
